The palatial home of the Mencos of Tafalla is now open to the public.
Your tour will guide you through the different rooms on the main floor, as well as the wine cellar. The tour lasts for approximately an hour and a half. During the visit, you will discover a home that sheltered Elisabeth Farnese, Ferdinand VII, Maria Amalia of Saxony or Alfonso XII. The building also served as headquarters for the French Army during the Peninsular War, headquarters for Maria Christina’s army or Red Cross hospital during the Carlist Wars, as well as training academy for under-officers and Civil Guard headquarters during the Spanish Civil War.
Members of the family lead the guided tours. In order to improve the quality of the visits, pre-arranged small groups are catered for.
